Section I                                       GENERAL QUERIES

1.What is GPAT-2019?GRADUATE PHARMACY APTITUDE TEST (GPAT) is a National level entrance exam which shall be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) every year as per the directions of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. This test facilitates institutions to select suitable Pharmacy graduates for admission into the Master’s (M.Pharm) program. The GPAT is a three hour computer based online test which is conducted in a single session. The GPAT score is accepted by all AICTE-approved Institutions/University Departments/Constituent Colleges/Affiliated Colleges. A few scholarships and other financial assistance in the field of Pharmacy are also given on the basis of the GPAT score. The GPAT 2019 will be conducted on 28th January, 2019.
2.What is the responsibility of NTA for GPAT-2019?NTA has been established as a premier, specialist, autonomous and self-sustained  testing organization to conduct entrance examination (GPAT-2019) for admission to M.Pharm or its equivalent courses across the country. The GPAT score is accepted by all AICTE-approved Institutions/University Departments/Constituent Colleges/Affiliated Colleges. The GPAT 2019 will be conducted on 28th January 2019.
3.When will be the Online Application form for GPAT-2019 be available on website?The Online Application form for GPAT-2019 will be available from 01-11-2018 to 30-11-2018 on the www.ntagpat.nic.in website.
4.When  will  GPAT-2019  Examination be conducted?The  GPAT-2019  Exam  would  be  held  on  28th   January  2019 (Monday).
5.Whether   the   examination   will   be offline or online?This will be computer based test and will be conducted through online mode only.
6.Will NTA reserve its discretion to fix the center in a city which is given in the Annexure-I?As far as possible the candidate will be given a choice from the options offered, however, NTA need to use discretion for allotment of Centres due to administrative reasons.
7.Can a center be allotted by the NTA manually?No
8.How the Score of GPAT- 2019 will be valid for taking admission in various institutions?The result of GPAT-2019 will be declared by February 08, 2019 as GPAT Score which will be accepted by over 1000 participating institutes. The participating institutes of GPAT-2019 are the institutions which will be accepting the GPAT Score. Candidates must apply separately to  each of  the  GPAT-2019  participating

 

  institutes with the GPAT Score 2019. Then, each participating institute will release their respective cut – off GPAT Score which candidates should meet to get qualified for admission to that particular institute. Candidates are advised to see the details of the admission process of each participating institute of GPAT-2019 on their respective website.
9.Is there any Negative Marking in the GPAT-2019?Yes there is a negative marking in GPAT-2019. For each wrong answer 1 mark shall be deducted.
10.In case the Photograph is not having Name & Date of the Photograph, would the form be rejected?No It is not mandatory to mention Name & Date in Photograph. Photograph should not be with cap or goggles. Spectacles are allowed if being used regularly. Polaroid and Computer generated photos are not acceptable. The photograph should be recent and taken on or after 15.10.2018. Candidates may please note that if it is found that photograph uploaded is fabricated i.e. de-shaped or seems to be hand-made or computer made, the form of the candidate will be rejected and the same would be considered as using unfair means and the candidate would be dealt with accordingly. Candidates are advised to take 6 to 8 passport size coloured photographs clear with white background for use at a later stage. The candidate should scan his/her passport size photograph for uploading. File size must be between 10 kb to 200 kb.
11.In case, the Candidate has uploaded Blue Signature instead of a Black Signature in the application form of GPAT-2019. Is it okay?Your Application Form will not be rejected for this mistake.

Section III                                      ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

 What is the minimum eligibility criteria/qualification for appearing in GPAT-2019?The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy (4 years after 10+2, including lateral entry students) or equivalent from a recognized university. Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree B. Pharmacy (10+2+4) whose result will be declared before commencement of admission for academic year 2019-20 can also apply for GPAT – 2019 computer-based test (CBT). B.Tech. (Pharmaceutical and Fine Chemical Technology)/ equivalent candidates are not eligible to apply.
 
·          The candidate must be a citizen of India.
·          There is no age restriction for appearing in GPAT-2019.
2.What is the Admission/reservation criteria for the candidates appearing in GPAT-2019For admission to a participating institute, please see the reservations applicable in that particular institute. In case of institutes run by Central Government, 15% of the seats are reserved for the category Scheduled Caste (SC), 7.5% for the category Scheduled Tribe (ST) and 27% for the category Other Backward Classes belonging to the “ Non Creamy layer” (OBC- NCL). Each category will have 5% reservations for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) as defined in The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (RPwD Act 2016).
 
Other Backward Classes – Non Creamy Layer (OBC–NCL) are as per the Central list of Other Backward Classes available on National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC), Government of India website www.ncbc.nic.in Thus, the candidates falling in this list may mention OBC in the Category Column. State list OBC Candidates who are not in OBC-NCL (Central List) must choose General.
3.What are the Provisions for the  PwD Candidates appearing in GPAT-2019Persons with disabilities (PwD) means a person with not less than forty percent (40%) of a specified disability where specified disability has not been defined in measurable terms and includes a person with disability where specified disability has been defined in measurable terms, as certified by the certifying authority. “Specified Disability” means the disabilities as specified in the Schedule of the RPwD Act 2016.
The categories of disabilities are:
(i)                    Blindness and low vision
(ii)                  Deaf and hard of hearing
(iii)                 Locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy
(iv)                 Autism, intellectual disability, specified learning disability and mental illness, and

 

  (v)                  Multiple disabilities from amongst persons under clauses (i) to (iv)
(vi)                 Other   ‘specified   disabilities’   mentioned   in   the Schedule of the RPwD Act 2016.
 
No change in the category will be entertained after the last date of GPAT-2019 application form and no subsequent changes will be effective for GPAT Score 2019.

In case of persons with benchmark disabilities in the category of blindness, locomotor disability (both arm affected- BA) and cerebral palsy, the facility of scribe/reader/lab assistant shall be given, if so desired by the person. The candidates who require scribe/reader as per above will have to submit the request in writing to the Centre Superintendent for the same along with disability certificate issued by the authorized Medical Officer at least one week before the examination date. The Centre Superintendent will identify the scribe/ reader from the students who are studying one class lower. In case a request is received from the candidate, he/she would be allowed to meet the scribe a day before the examination to verify the suitability of the scribe. One hour compensatory time will also be allowed to the candidates who are availing the facility of scribe/reader
4.What is the Test Pattern for GPAT- 2019The medium of Question Paper is English only.
 
GPAT is an online computer-based test of 3 hours duration with 125 objective type questions.
 
There are 4 marks for a correct answer.
 
There shall be negative marking for wrong answers, for each wrong answer 1 mark shall be deducted.

Whether the application fee exclude the Common Service charge?
Yes, The fees charged is exclusive of Service/Processing charges and GST.
3.How to remit fee for GPAT-2019?The  examination  fee  for  GPAT-2019  can  be  remitted  in  the following manner:
Through any  Debit/Credit  Card  using  on-line  gateway  payment facility or Net Banking/UPI/E-wallet of various service providers
through SBIMOPS.
4.If any candidate faces any problem in remittance of fee due to failed transaction, what can he/she do?If the payment status of online transaction (by credit/debit card) is not communicated by payment gateway in real time then fee payment is not completed and the candidate will not be able to download the Confirmation page. In this case, the candidate is required to pay fee again through online mode and download the Confirmation page. The amount due to failed transaction of credit/debit card will be refunded back within 15 days after last date for filling online application.
5.If a candidate for any reason has not appeared in the examination, is there any provision for fee refund?No. Once the provided online application form is submitted successfully by the candidate, it cannot be withdrawn. Claims for refund of application fee will not be entertained under any circumstances.
