UPSC recruit the drug inspectors in CDSCO, the drug control department of India. Salary of Drug inspector in CDSCO , posted in cities like Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Ahmadabad, Goa, Bangaluru etc are calculated on same pay scales.
Drug Inspectors in UPSC are recruited in pay band 2 (9300-34800). In seventh pay commission they are at level 8. GP-4800. The basic salary at this level is 47600 rupees.
 
Now along with the basic salary drug inspectors also get allowances such as dearness allowance, house rent allowance HRA, transport allowance etc.
 
The HRA is given as per cities.  Mostly the UPSC drug inspectors are posted in metro cities. So the HRA is 24 percent of basic. HRA in starting is 11424 rupees . Transport allowance is 3600 for level 8. There maybe other allowances also, so the gross starting salary will be around 47600 + 11414 + 3600 + About 4000 other allowances = 66614 rupees.
 
The NPS and other deductions will be around 8000. The in hand salary of UPSC drug inspectors will be around 58000 rupees.

Rajasthan DI Pay Scale: Pay Band – 3, 15600-39100 (Grade pay Rs 5400). In rajasthan new pay patrix DI or drug control officer is placed at level 14. The basic salary is 56100.
The HRA range from 8 percent to 16 percent. With allowances the gross salary of drug control officer in ranjasthan range from 65000 to 68000 per month depending on the city of posting.
